Mateen Bizar

Based in Los Angeles

I aim to create transformative theatrical experiences that bring diverse people together, crafting performances that challenge perspectives and inspire change. My mother tongue, Farsi, is rich in poetry and why I pursue material not written in our natural way of speaking. I often cannot find characters I relate to in contemporary pieces which is why I explore theatrical forms like farce, Shakespeare, and Experimental plays, where I am able to bring myself and my background to the piece. Through my work, I seek to expose the raw experience of being human on the stage, hoping to make a difference in the audience’s life.
